Welcome to Year 1 with Mrs Martin and Mrs Reed!

Happy Christmas! Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas break!

Thank you so much for our wonderful, extremely thoughtful and generous Christmas gifts! We have had a great Autumn term and it has been lovely getting to know all of the children in Year 1, they make us smile everyday. We hope you have lots of family time this Christmas and New Year! We look forward to seeing you all rested and ready to work hard in 2026.

Reminders

• Please send a named bottle of water to school each day.
• Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday this half term. Please bring their PE kit into school on a Monday, it can stay in school all week and be taken home on a Friday to wash.
• Please return reading folders each day so that we can record school reading.
• Reading Books will be changed on Monday evenings. Please aim to read at least 4 times a week with your child, and sign the reading record book each time. If fewer than 4 reads are recorded, the same book will be returned home.
• Homework will be set each Friday and any written homework needs to be completed/handed in by the following Wednesday. Homework can be found on our class page under the Homework tab.
• Spellings can be found on the spelling tab of the Year 1 page and are also stuck in their homework book on the front cover. Our spelling test will take place on Friday's.
• Please clearly label all items of clothing and shoes.
