This week we have been making our own movie trailers in English for "The Water Tower".  We have focussed on building mystery and tension using rhetorical questions, short sentences and various other techniques.  We hope that this will help us to do the same leading up to our own mystery narratives.  Have a look at our other blog to see an example.

In maths we have done lots of work on place value so that we can build on this to look at the 4 operations with larger numbers and decimals too.

Science has seen us planning an experiment to test materials that conduct heat effectively and making predictions.  We will be extending this further next week by carrying out our experiments and drawing graphs of our results and making conclusions. 

We have also had a special visit from the NSPCC looking at keeping ourselves safe and who we can talk to if we feel unsure around our own personal safety.

Please keep an eye on the spellings and homework section as they are a little different this week with more spellings as we begin recapping the KS2 list and also some research homework to support our travel brochures that we will be making next week in ICT and geography.

I have loved seeing the children extending their own learning at home with extra homework and projects.  Special mentions go to Elijah for his extra Science work, Daisy for her Science work with her homemade slime and also Isabelle L for her extended writing.
