The term is very much running ahead of us at the moment and we are having so much fun and can’t believe where the year is going!

First of all I must say that the effort all the children went to with their homework was incredible!  We had a Power Point Showcase and also a  “bring and brag” style  share of what we had done. We also did some peer evaluation on this.  These projects really are helping us with our persuasivetravel brochures that we are creating in ICT on India.  We learnt even more this week by making living physical geography maps (and a lot of mess) as well as watching some video clips and asking and answering enquiry based questions based around this.

In RE, we thought about which Bible figures were inspirational and way and wrote to the Queen to recommend them for an award.  Why not ask how Peppa Pig fitted in to this?!?

In Science our real drive and focus is the results and conclusions section of experiments and Mrs Poynton carried out one for us to watch on conductors of heat.  All the children worked really hard on their bar graphs and drawing conclusions and knowledge and understanding from the results.

During Maths we have been slaying the dragon that is decimals, every ones nemesis!  I feel we may be winning and by the time we had our competitive knock out competition on Friday, our confidence was certainly growing with multiplying them whether we favoured the removing decimal method or the column method.  Our homework this week consolidates all our hard work this week on decimals.

In English we had a school first…everyone’s piece of writing received a Head Teachers Award as the language that was used and the embedded relative clauses to add detail and description was simple outstanding and really set the scene of the eerie Water Tower.  I can’t wait to see your finished stories.
