2nd Week
Date: 14th Sep 2017 @ 2:43pm
This week we have had lots of fun using practical investigations in maths to reach a given target number. The octagons triumphed by hitting the target in the least amount of rolls of the dice and some very tactical decision making.
In literacy, we have continued to read Friend or Foe and have found out about David's friendship with Tucky and the relationship between him and his mother. We began to use the magic phrase to directly quote from the text to support our comprehension answers.
Within history and ICT we have begun our research to create our own Canva presentations on different areas of WWII such as rationing, fashion, weaponary and vehicles. Some of us even had stories from family members which we would love to hear more of!
I had no idea what stunning dancers we have but I quickly found out when we created a lyrical movement and dance piece in groups based around the story of Rose Blanche by Ian McEwan and the music from the powerful film "The Piano." I have included some pictures below but I was visably moved by each and every interpretation of war and nature coming together.
The week ended with our usual celebrations to individual members of the class for their achievements:
