Welcome back to all!

It is always exciting to start a new half term and see the buzz of excitement surrounding new topics and idea.

In maths we have been looking at fractions and have had many lightbulb moments when the children realised that if they knew their timestables then equivalent fractions became very easy.  Well done! A special mention goes to Grace who showed great determination and resilience.

In English our new book (The Promise) has given us great opportunities to explore sentence structure and techniques that author's use to highlight certain sentences and create ineterest and focus.  We have looked at modal verbs, expanded noun phrases and subordinating conjunctions and used high level punctuation to set the scene with ; and - Ryan, Aidan, Harry and Isabel produced some real show stopping work. Keep it up!

Our Forces topic gave us the chance to explore balanced and unbalanced forced and how vital gravity is. Whilst ICT allowed us to use Coding to create movements of characters within games.  Thank you Gabriel and Marianne for being excellent coding experts and supporting the class with this new skill.

Music, PE and French gave further opportunities to shine with Lewis, Jessica and Marco getting special mentions respectively in those subjects for excellent attitude and  approach to learning.  Next Tuesday we will have a special growth mindset day run by a special team of people to teach some great skills to help children develop this positive attitude to learning.

If any children have any maps of Middlewich or OS maps of anywhere please could we borrow them to help with our Geography.  Also if you have any moving toys such as a Jack in the Box or push along ducks or push along  wooden stick toys please can we borrow them to support our DT topic on Cams.
