Year 3 Week 5

Date: 6th Oct 2017 @ 5:21pm

Year 3 have been working hard this week retelling the story 'Into the forest'. They have made story maps, orally told each other the story and wrote a diary entry as if they were the little boy in the story. They know the story so well now that they could tell you a bed time story this weekend. We will be writing our diary entries for our class display next week ready for you to see them at parents evening in a few weeks!

We have continued to learn our 3 and 4 times tables. But not just multiplying but dividing and word problems as well. Keep practising them at home so that we can have competitions in school. Don't forget to also practise your doubling and halving as we have struggled a bit with this.

We are starting to become expert healthy eaters. We can explain which foods are healthy and why. We can design and make healthy snacks. Next week we are turning into advertisers and making adverts to promote healthy eating.

We have improved our map reading skills and have found seas and rivers in and around the UK.

Keep reading at home as lots of children have been moving up a book band, well done! We are working our way through the register so hopefully by half term you will have all moved up a book band if you carry on reading at home.

We had a lovely session in the chapel today sharing our treasure boxes, the things we have made and the wonderful memories from our families .

Keep pushing yourselves Year 3!
