Remembrance Sunday 2020
Walk of Remembrance
Remembrance Day is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty. The Middlewich Branch of the Royal British Legion and Middlewich Town Council asked residents to comply with Government guidance and pay their respects to the fallen at home this year, as opposed to attending the cenotaph, to avoid increasing the spread of COVID-19 in the town. Therefore, the pupils of St Mary’s made individual poppies which were displayed in the newly created forest area. Each class walked silently through the forest area in respect for those who have sacrificed their lives to keep others safe.
