Turning Disability into Possibility

Turning Disability into Possibility

We were pleased to welcome Bartholomew Gee on 4th November 2022. He delivered an assembly and workshops on the theme ‘Turning Disability into Possibility’.

Bart was born with Arthrogryposis (weak muscles and stiff joints), the doctors said he would never walk, he may never sit up independently and he was given a very bleak outlook to life.

He started walking aged 3 and growing up he has been able to take part in many sports and activities including playing the piano and drums.  He is now 39 years old and in the last 5 years he has completed a 5km swim and 3 triathlons.  He drives an adapted car and is able to lead a normal life.

He shared his experiences during his visit and his key message was when something is difficulthard or challenging, it is still possible
