Homework Year 2
Hello and welcome to Year 2,
The children have made a fantastic start to the year and we are really happy they have settled so well. Thank-you for all your continued help with this transition. We know parents are always very keen to support their children at home and we hope this letter will be helpful in assisting you to do this with weekly homework.
Each week children will receive a new reading book, usually on a Monday. Please sign the reading diary when you share this book and return the diary to school each Friday and Monday. We do ask that the children read a minimum of 4 times a week and this will earn them a raffle ticket for entry into our class rewards. Prizes may include walking Charlie the Dog or a sweet treat.
Spellings will be tested on a Friday. The spellings for the half term are available on the class page on the web site, please check the dates for each week’s spellings. These are also available in the homework book.
Weekly tasks will usually be set online for maths and english along with instructions for their completion under the homework tab on the Year 2 class page.
Homework books are sent home on a Friday. We do ask that any written tasks are completed in writing pencil and as with any other school book, in your best handwriting. Please return books to school by Wednesday of the following week so that they can be marked and prepared for the Friday.
